Founded in 2006, Peak Franchise Capital is a boutique advisory and consulting firm focused primarily on the restaurant and franchise industry. Peak’s unique experience includes extensive work in acquisitions, divestitures, restructuring, bankruptcies, development and financial management. Peak has worked on a wide variety of assignments for franchisors, franchisees, lenders and private equity firms on brands operating in the quick service, fast casual and casual dining segments. Peak is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
Founder and Managing Partner
Mike founded Peak Franchise Capital and serves as the Managing Partner for this boutique restaurant industry focused advisory and consulting firm. Mike has worked with franchisors and franchisees in various senior level roles throughout his career. As Executive Vice President, he managed the Franchise Assistance and Area Development teams at Quiznos during 2007 and 2008. From 2003-2005, Mike was the Managing Director leading Burger King Corporation’s franchise restructuring program and business development teams working closely with Burger King’s private equity investors, Texas Pacific Group, Bain Capital and Goldman Sachs. From 1997-2003, he served as Senior Director of Finance for YUM! Brands, Inc. and Pizza Hut, Inc. where he was responsible for domestic franchise acquisition and divestiture activities and managed the Pizza Hut franchise finance functions. Mike has also served as the independent board member for The Krystal Company.
Previously, he worked in various positions including serving as the Chief Financial Officer of Network Multi-Family Security Corp. and as the Corporate Controller of PSI Holding, Inc., the U.S. holding company for a Swiss-based service conglomerate. Additionally, Mike worked in the real estate industry in public and private placements after beginning his career in commercial banking. Mike received his BBA degree in Accounting from Northeast Louisiana University and earned his CPA.
Susan is a finance professional with over 28 years of business experience in various accounting, auditing and finance functions. For the past 12 years, Susan has been consulting with clients to facilitate the sale of restaurants, the financial restructure of franchisees, the development of functional financial reporting statements and the valuation of restaurant businesses. From 2005 – 2007, Susan served as Burger King Corporation’s Chief Audit Executive, reporting directly to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. In addition to monitoring global compliance with corporate policies, Susan’s team was instrumental in documenting and evaluating controls pursuant with the Company’s Year 1 compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act. From 2002 – 2005 Susan worked with global restaurant franchisors to direct franchisee financial restructures, both within and outside the bankruptcy court process. Prior to that, Susan worked in various corporate Control functions within the retail and restaurant industries. Susan holds BA in Business Economics and an MA in Economics from University of California, Santa Barbara. Susan is a CPA licensed by the state of California.
Susan lives in Denver with her husband and two children.
